Unlock PDF.
A password that made sense once becomes friction forever: you know it, but typing it on every open, on every device, gets old. Unlocking usually means uploading a sensitive, encrypted document to a stranger’s server along with its password. Not here: qpdf compiled to WebAssembly decrypts the file inside your browser, and you download an unlocked copy. The file and password never leave your device.
⚠ You need the document’s current password — this tool removes protection you can already open, it does not crack passwords. PDFs with only owner restrictions (printing/copying locked) often unlock with the password left blank.

Frequently asked questions
I forgot the password — can this recover it?
No. This tool decrypts with the password you provide; it does not guess or crack passwords. If the PDF only restricts printing or copying (an owner password) but opens normally, try leaving the password blank — those restrictions can usually be lifted.
Is it safe to use this with a confidential document?
That is the reason this tool exists: the usual online unlockers receive your encrypted file and its password on their servers. Here, decryption happens in your browser — nothing is transmitted, and it works with Wi-Fi off.
Does unlocking change the document?
Only the encryption is removed. Pages, text and quality are untouched.
